“God created man, but seeing how weak he was, gave him the dog.” - Alphonse Toussenel

10 promises to my dog!

i guess for us born in the year of the dog, fated to live this life are we. =)

you can feel it when life starts to change. every part of your body shivers with discomfort.

nie has officially begun. hall will be decided by the end of this week. lessons begining officially next monday. and another phase begins. this will be a short one. 10 months.

in order to savour life, one cannot cling on to the past. it has to go in order to have arms free to embrace the future. this is one thing i find it ever so hard to do time and time again. unfinished businesses of the past always keep me present in the past. never really to see what the future has in store. and even as i know this for a fact, the pull of what could have been still seems stronger than what could be.

the certainty of rectifying an outcome always seems greater than the endless possibilities of the future. even if it really isnt.

a start again. fresh? i dunno.

but i am looking forward to what the future has in store for me. the past 10 months have been nothing short of enriching. what i would give to live it all over again. haha. how many nsfs have travelled to 5 different countries including south africa? how many have held a myraid of appointments: a stint as an artillery instructor, a project officer in mindef, a commander in my battery? how many nsfs have had the chance to write a speech for the chief of army? how many found themselves in a tightly knitt functional group? how many had the chance to work on developmental projects?

and better still, how many got to do all of the above?

i'm grateful for the chances. i'm grateful for the people. i'm grateful for my experiences in ns.

i'm sad to leave, cross my heart and hope to die. but how can i really complain have having enjoyed all of these?
