haha... i'm sun burnt from playing tennis today... haha interesting day today wuz... indeed... i realised something wrong with my swing... haha...anyway had lunch at the club... some baked chicken marcaroni with cheeze and a whole jug of chin chow... haha... oh ya.. and my first issue of new scientist has arrived... haha deciding between this magazine and discover... haha in spirit they are the same magazine... both covering a good deal of modern scientific events with the following differences... my initial preference would be discover cos it's "prettier", better packaged and suited for any casual reader... whereas new scientist looks more academic has a tacky presentation much like the economist, and is made with low quality paper... haha however, i find the content for new scientist to be more current and considering it comes once everyweek, definiately a bargin comaperd to the monthly discover... haha well... shall look at the other issues when they arrive b4 i make my decision... haha
this weeks one covers (in a few pages) the "13 things that don't make sense"... which are... 1. the placebo effect 2. the horizon problem 3. ultra-energetic cosmic rays 4. belfast homeopathy results 5. dark matter 6. viking's methane 7. tetraneutrons 8. the pioneer anomaly 9. dark energy 10. the kuiper cliff 11. the Wow signal 12. not -so-constant constants and 13. cold fusion...
hahah interesting huh... haha wat am i doing in math... so boring... haha shld have done physics or bio or chemistry... arrrrrgggghhh... math... i suppose math is good in a way but u see... with math... u dun get any appreciation... haha all u get is blatant dismisal from 'those not in the circle' cos math apparently seem very trivial and non-constructive... and hence of no significant value... haha which obviously is not true but who am i to start arguing with a biologist or a physicist when clearly the stuff they learn has very obvious and direct applications? haha oh well... i guess math will forever be the bastard child of science... forgotten, laughed at, under-appreciated and abused until it is needed... haha
okie... time to eat the dinner my sis cooked... smells nice.. hahah yumz...

haha... the http://www.nasdaq-100open.com/ has started, and finally justine henin hardenne is making a comeback... haha after almost 1 whole year of not playing well and battling with some virus called...errm... cytomegalovirus... haha sounds scary man... anyway hope she steamrolls her way to the finals and is victorious there like clijsters wuz at indian wells last week... haha... woo... the russians now have something to fear... haha 2 belgians on the rise again... haha...
my back hurts like mad now... haha think i really pulled it this time around... haha or maybe it's cos today.. it finally looks like its gonna rain... FINALLY... after sooo many days of heat and smoke... disgusting... i can almost smeel the smoke in teh air when i open the windows... urrrgghh and the worst part is that i dun even noe if the weather will get any hotter!!! it's not even june yet!!
urrrgghh.. ok that's it cannot take it liao.. salon pas time...

hahah... waaaah back ache back ache... haha played badminton yesterday... after a long lay off... and man does my back ache... hahaha... well... not bad la... some exercise after so long... haha ok then again tennis does count as exercise hor.. hahatoday... i fell to temptation... skipped field theory lecture... haha naughty me... and spent the day finding anime mp3s... haha so nice... haha waaaah esp the bg music... ya ya i miss playing in a band... haha wish i coud play for the concert but then... haiyoah... no time... sianz...
submitted my thesis to my SUPER HARDWORKING sup.. hahaha yeah he'll gimme comments on monday i believe... then can re-edit for official submission this coming thursday... haha...
arrrgh... the weather's killing me... man... so HOT!! hahaha... how i wish i was in france... haha... oh well... chatted with caleb the other day... haha waaah then just realised that after they all left for france NUS life seemed less interesting liao... haha dunno y also... maybe it's a coincidence i guess... cos now i'm doing too many level 4000 modules... in fact all my modules are 4000... hahaha...
went fopr mel mel's performance.. haha the songs were nice... liked quite a few of them... but then hor the singing... not to match... haha but overall a good and entertaining performance... hahaha made me want to go watch lea salonga... hahahaha... 80 bucks... hahaha must save next week hahaha...
ok la... shall go oogle at my tag heuer dream watch online... haha realised it ONLY costs abt 1800 pounds... hahaha... ciao!

haha had the most interesting week this week.... haha welll kinda... haha skipped field theory on monday cos wanted to mug for the 3 tests... haha in the end he din do anything except go thru galois theory again... anyway... had lebesgue test in the morning on tuesday... haha super ill prepared for that module... wuz sooo sure i would fail... and when the paper wuz handed out... only 3 questions... briefly ran thru them and saw... to my horror... that there were no questions on measurability!!! haha anyway i completely freaked out... din noe how to do any question at all... and to make matters worse... my lecturer declared it an open book... waaah open book test i still can't do the questions!! haha... anyway an hour passed and only 1 guy finished...so QTS looked at us and sed "u all need more time rite? ko just carry on doing" and we sat there trying to do for almost 2 hours... haha afterwhich my frens and i agreed that this could be teh very first module in NUS that we would be getting 0 marks for... haha now fastforward to friday when we got our tests back (must have been damn easy for QTS to mark...) haha I actually passed! haha but he sed the average is so bad that he decided to add 1 mark to everyone's grades... haha and the test is marked out of 10 lor... hahahaanyway rewind back to tuesday... had graph test that night too... waaah felt like kicking myself in the butt... such an idiot am i... hahaha... vertex and edge connectivity also can get wrong... wah kao.... there were 2 tough questions and 2 easy question... of which the easy qns were meant to make pple pass the test which the harder ones were for those to fight for As la... in the end i could do the tough questions but made careless mistakes the easy ones... went to see KKM on friday as well... he kept shaking his head when he saw me... haha kept saying "i HOPED u would do well for this test cos ur performance during tutorials is good... u can think... but... too careless... too careless...." and he continues shaking his head... waaah felt like i let him down man... felt soooo bad... haha but oh well that's my life la huh... always so close but yet so far... haha..
optimization test on wed wuz ok la... haha i hope everything turned out right... i think teh only tough problem wuz (in my opinion) quoting the definitions for RP and DRP... haha (see for lazy pple who dun mug texts... the toughest questions are not those that require u to think but rather those that u need to regurgitate... hahahha
anyway all in all quite an exciting week... glad the tests are over... haha... went shopping with LT yesterday... suggested taka cos my sis wuz doing another shwo there... haha this time as COOKIE MONSTER... hahahaha... well i filmed her dance... ahah so cute... i wounder how come i never attended those sesame street roadshows when i wuz young... hahaha anyway LT and I were walking arnd best denki cos YC wanted a surprise for his bdae... haha in the end we got him an electric shaver and an electric tooth brush... and no we are not implying he needs to groom himself better... hahahaha
oh welll... anyway TKM wants my thesis in by next tuesday... so that he can look over it and pass it to me teh following tue so i can make changes b4 my submission... he's SOOOOO HARDWORKING... hahaha i think form wat i have gathered he's the only supervisor that is soooo dedicated... he even appologized to me saying he wuz so busy and that he wuz not doing his job as a supervisor... man! haha i felt *again* so paiseh... ok ok cannot let another lecturer down... hahaha must submit a flawless thesis...
had a badminton game this morn with francis and spencer... man... never play for more than a mth liao... haha had alot of trouble getting my shots back... haha luckily we played today at yuhua... no one to see... haha not so malu.... hahaha wed at nus... haha so better buck up... haha
ok la... hope i strike 4d with the numbers hanmao accidentally gave me... haha for now... time to work on thesis... haha... ciao...

aaaah.... my laptop has finally succumbed to the illness that has plagued her for sooo long... with medical bills amounting to 2000 plus dollars, i made the tough decision to turn off all life support... i have yet to collect her remains from the toshiba pple... oh well such is life... it wuz a good 3 years together... and now in her place a new desktop arrives... stronger and more resilient than her predessor...hmmm... wow has it really been almost 1 mth since i've updated... haha... well much has happened... like my midterm talk, jamie deciding to go japan afterall, just passed my field theory test... etc etc.. and even more to happen in a matter of weeks... lebesgue graph and DO tests this coming tuesday and wed... busy busy... haha plus since my laptop went down, i have had to redo a significant portion of my thesis again... haha which in some sense is a blessing cos i found soem logical errors in my proofs... haha... but i guess it's a waste of time also since i could have been spending this time studying for my tests...
hmmm anyway tonight they will be showing the AE semifinals... haha... havent watched badminton on tv for soooo long...well hope i get to watch the match that i wanna see... hahaha... although i really doubt it... hee...
speaking of which... havnet played badminton for almost a month... haha amzing for someone who used to play 3 times a week... haha well i dunno... wuz considering getting some coaching during the may holidays... haha well we'll see abt that when the time comes... so now my only form of exercise is tennis... haha and speaking of which... haha let me just state the stupid things my mum sez... first she complains she's fat... so we (my sis and i) tell her to play more tennis and to stop drinking 100-plus... haha... so she brings us to play tennis with her and she complains that i make her run too much... which is spastic cos that's teh whole idea of the game rite? haha so she starts scolding me for forgetting that i'm 20 plus and she's more than twice my age... haha... so eventually my sis gave her a telling off effectively saying that she can either scold me for making her run or complain abt her cellulite ridden thighs but not both... hahahah... my sis is damn farnie...
haha oh oh and i am supposed to go down to dunno where to film her...she's doing another one of those gimmicks again... last time as patrick starfish from sponge bob squarepants but not as COOKIEMONSTER!!! hahahaha... she sez his eyes really boggle around... haha... yeah must go grab a video of her one of these days... hahah
haha okie okie time to do a bit more work b4 watching badminton... haha ciao...
